Over the next few months, Calgary’s calendar brings together a range of well-known concerts in Calgary, a few nights of clubbing in Calgary, and other events in Calgary that are worth keeping an eye on. Tinariwen at The Palace Theatre brings Sahara blues with a steady, hypnotic pulse, while José González at The Palace Theatre offers a quieter, intimate folk set later in the season. Lyle Lovett and his Small Large Band at Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium adds a classic mix of country, swing and jazz. On the electronic side, nimino at The Palace Theatre and NOTD at Commonwealth point to club-friendly nights with a pop edge, while Bring Me The Horizon - Post Human: Nex Gen - The Third Ascension Program at Scotiabank Saddledome brings metal, alternative sounds and big choruses together. Among the heavier shows later in the period are Revocation 20 Years of Torment at Dickens and Ensiferum at The Arrowhead, and Bahamas at Jack Singer Concert Hall plus Liam St. John « Year of the Horse » at Commonwealth round out the lineup with a more roots- and blues-led feel.
