Nickelback

Formed in Hanna, Alberta, Nickelback brings together Chad Kroeger, Ryan Peake, Mike Kroeger and, since 2005, drummer Daniel Adair around a radio-friendly rock sound situated between post-grunge, hard rock and alternative rock, with very emphatic choruses and songwriting that alternates between nervy tracks, ballads and songs closer to pop rock. The band first gained recognition in the late 1990s with The State (2000), before taking an international dimension with Silver Side Up in 2001 and the track “How You Remind Me”. Nickelback then followed with The Long Road (2003), All the Right Reasons (2005), Dark Horse (2008) and Here and Now (2011), establishing a formula based on massive guitars, steady tempos and Chad Kroeger’s raspy voice. Over the years Nickelback has worked with producers such as Rick Parashar, Joey Moi and Mutt Lange, while maintaining a regular presence on major North American and international stages. The band’s discography also includes No Fixed Address (2014), Feed the Machine (2017) and Get Rollin’ (2022), the latter showing a return to a direct sound, between melodic hard rock and on-stage energy.
