Greta Van Fleet

Formed in 2012 in Frankenmuth, Michigan, Greta Van Fleet brings together brothers Josh, Jake, and Sam Kiszka with drummer Danny Wagner, in a lineup nourished by a family rock culture and a shared love for blues. Their music sits between hard rock, blues rock, and progressive rock, with guitar-forward arrangements, a dense rhythm section, and a high-pitched voice that has often drawn comparisons to 1970s British rock. After a first live EP released in 2014, Greta Van Fleet rose to a larger scale with Black Smoke Rising in 2017, followed by From the Fires the same year. The band then followed with three studio albums, Anthem of the Peaceful Army (2018), The Battle at Garden's Gate (2021), and Starcatcher (2023), which show a gradual broadening of writing, with longer tracks, more emphasis on atmospheres, and a more lyrical dimension. Very active onstage from their early days, Greta Van Fleet toured the United States as well as Europe and shared the bill with artists like Bob Seger, while quickly frequenting major rock festivals. Over the years, Greta Van Fleet has developed a sound that, starting from a very upfront approach, has evolved into a broader formula where classic rock, folk, and certain progressive textures coexist without abandoning a firmly electric base.
