Puscifer
Run by Maynard James Keenan alongside Tool and A Perfect Circle, Puscifer emerged from Los Angeles as a laboratory where alternative rock, electronic textures, and trip-hop–adjacent atmospheres intersect. Conceived as a variable-geometry collective rather than a fixed band, Puscifer gathers recurring musicians and vocalists around Keenan — among them singer Carina Round and producer/guitarist Mat Mitchell — to explore songwriting built on slow grooves, abrasive guitars, dark programming, and often layered vocals. Puscifer’s debut studio album, “V Is for Vagina,” arrived in 2007 and established an aesthetic blending dark humor, sensuality, and a cinematic mood, followed by EPs and remix albums. With “Conditions of My Parole” in 2011 and “Money Shot” in 2015, Puscifer refined a more melodic and narrative side while maintaining an experimental approach to production. “Existential Reckoning” in 2020 pushed the electronic foundation further, with synthetic timbres and a more minimalist writing style. Onstage, Puscifer translates this universe into concerts conceived as multimedia shows, incorporating video, scripted elements, and a performative dimension that places the project at the boundary between musical venture, visual concept, and rock-theater troupe.
