Yard Act are arriving in Toronto on September 22, 2026, to perform at The Opera House. Born in Leeds in the early 2020s, the quartet has carved out a distinctive place in the British post-punk revival with a very direct sense of storytelling and writing that captures everyday life, its absurdities and tensions. Between nervy spoken word, dry basslines and tightening rhythms, their tracks unfold like short scenes, rich in detail and with sideways glances. Since The Overload, the band has refined this blend of satire, social observation and raw energy, conceived for the live setting, with no frills and always in motion.
The Armed open the evening. A Detroit-born collective with a fluid lineup, the group blurs boundaries as much in its songwriting as in its music: hardcore, post-hardcore, metalcore and experimental rock collide in dense, fast tracks, threaded with breaks and gang vocals, with sometimes more melodic hooks that surface amid the chaos. An unpredictable set, built for tension and contrast.
