Westside Cowboy
Westside Cowboy took shape in the United Kingdom around Reuben Haycocks, James Bradbury, Aoife Anson O’Connell and Paddy Murphy, in a quartet format where songwriting and collective playing are central. The band positions its music between country, indie rock and art rock, with expansive melodies, taut guitars and an intentionally rough‑around‑the‑edges approach the group describes as “Britainicana.” After a first set of songs that drew attention on the British independent scene, Westside Cowboy released the EP So Much Country ’Till We Get There in January 2026 on Adventure Recordings, a label affiliated with Island Records. Recorded in New York with producer Loren Humphrey, the record extends a sound that mixes rock tension, folk‑country inflections and a knack for choruses without aiming to recreate American styles. Westside Cowboy’s live activity developed quickly, with a UK tour in early 2026, US dates in late 2025, and shared bills with Geese and Black Country, New Road. The band has also played festivals such as Glastonbury, Green Man and End of the Road — settings in which Westside Cowboy reveals the most direct and abrasive side of its songs.
