Bleech 9:3
Between Dublin, where the project took shape, and Brixton, where it is now based, Bleech 9:3 formed around Barry Quinlan and Sam Duffy, two singer-songwriters joined by James Quinlan on bass and Luke O’Neill on drums. Bleech 9:3 operates in an alternative rock register where clear melodic lines sit alongside heavily saturated guitars and a more abrasive tension, with a marked taste for contrasts between restraint and sonic release. The band also stakes its identity in a visual and introspective imagination that feeds both the writing and the stage presence. Bleech 9:3’s early releases, including the tracks “Ceiling” and “Jacky”, accompanied the emergence of a quartet active on the London scene, notably opening for Shame and Keo and holding a three-night residency at the Blue Basement in London. In this recent trajectory, Bleech 9:3 links personal songwriting to a direct, tense and melodic rock aesthetic shaped by live experience and a tight group dynamic.
