Spite

Active on the American deathcore scene since 2014, Spite formed in Southern California around vocalist Darius Tehrani and quickly developed an identity defined by a dense, aggressive, highly rhythmic sound. Their early releases—the self-titled EP Spite in 2015 followed by Misery in 2016—laid the groundwork for a breakdown-centered deathcore with choppy riffs and a hardcore-leaning drive, before the band cemented this approach on the 2017 album Nothing Is Beautiful. Spite continued along this path with 2019’s The Root of All Evil, which heightened the contrasts between fast passages and heavier sections, and then with 2022’s Dedication to Flesh, marked by more structured songwriting while remaining rooted in an extreme aesthetic. Initially associated with Stay Sick Recordings and later Rise Records, Spite integrated into the metal and deathcore touring circuits across North America and Europe, moving through clubs and specialized festivals, and over the years refined a style where modern death metal influences, hardcore energy, and nu-metal touches intersect, driven by a highly expressive vocal delivery and abrasive guitar textures.
