Radio Free Alice

Formed between Sydney and Melbourne around Noah Learmonth and guitarist Jules Paradiso, Radio Free Alice came together in Australia with Michael Phillips on bass and Lochie Dowd on drums. The quartet develops a melodic post-punk driven by the new wave, nervy guitars and taut basslines, with songwriting that favors clear choruses, a detached vocal and short, dry-energy tracks. After school beginnings in Sydney, Radio Free Alice relocates to Melbourne to pursue the project and begins to circulate on the Australian indie scene before quickly expanding its international reach. The band then goes on tours and supports, notably alongside Geese and later The Killers in Australia, while appearing at festivals such as Governor’s Ball and Reading & Leeds. Their debut album, What’s In Between, is announced for 2025, with work conducted between Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom in collaboration with Ewan Pearson, Peter Katis and Finn Billingham. In this still relatively young trajectory, Radio Free Alice asserts a live-band format anchored in a tense, precise and unembellished indie rock aesthetic.
