Solomun

Born in 1975 in Travnik in the former Yugoslavia and settled at a young age in Hamburg, Mladen Solomun develops his Solomun project at the intersection of deep house, melodic house and a slower, more progressive techno. Active from the early 2000s as a DJ and producer, he rooted himself in Hamburg’s local scene before co-founding the label Diynamic Music in 2006, which became the main platform for his releases and those of his artistic circle. Solomun released the album “Dance Baby” in 2009, characterised by long arrangements, rounded basslines and a strong emphasis on melody, and returned to the long-player format in 2021 with “Nobody Is Not Loved”, featuring vocal contributions from both pop and electronic artists. Alongside his maxis and remixes, Solomun has built a DJ career focused on clubs and international festivals — notably through his resident nights in Ibiza — and champions a mixing style based on extended transitions, a deliberately progressive dynamic and a constant interplay of tension, groove and introspective atmospheres.
