Jimi Jules
Swiss producer, DJ and musician Jimi Jules has been developing since the early 2010s a project that sits between house, techno, indie dance and electronic pop, with a strong emphasis on voice, melodies and songwriting. After the first EPs Awakenings in 2012 and Earl in 2013, Jimi Jules followed with several releases that shaped a more personal club format, including the double release Come Along / Wide with Animal Trainer and Pushing On with Oliver Dollar in 2014, and No Wishes in 2015. The remainder of his discography — from Bogotá, Lost Love and Equinox in 2016 to Midnight Juggernaut in 2018, Karma Baby and Fool in 2019, Ham the Monkey and My City’s On Fire in 2021, and Burning in 2022 — shows a steady progression between dancefloor-oriented tracks and more song-focused, vocal pieces. Jimi Jules moves through the European house and techno scenes with a sound that blends minimal groove, supple basslines, dark textures and more open choruses, at the intersection of the DJ set and the electronic song.
