Joris Voorn
Active on the European techno scene since the early 2000s, Joris Voorn — a DJ and producer born in Tilburg and based in Amsterdam — develops music that sits between techno, house and detailed melodic textures. Trained in architecture before committing fully to sound creation, he emerged with the maxi singles "Muted Trax" and "Lost Memories", marked by Detroit techno influences and a focus on rhythmic precision. This period led to the albums Future History (2004) and From A Deep Place (2007), which feature progressive structures and a thorough attention to atmosphere, and later to Nobody Knows (2014) and Four (2019), which draw him closer to melodic house with polished arrangements. Co‑founder with Edwin Oosterwal of the Green and Rejected labels, he uses these platforms to release his own productions and those of like‑minded artists within contemporary techno and house. A fixture in many clubs and festivals across Europe and beyond — notably on the Dutch scene and at Awakenings events — Joris Voorn also pursues a compilation‑DJ activity with mixes for the "Fuse presents", "Balance" and "Fabric" series, extending his structured approach to mixing and set dynamics into recorded form.
