Xinobi

Under the name Xinobi, Portuguese producer, DJ and musician Bruno Cardoso has been developing since the late 2000s a musical world that sits between house, nu‑disco, indie dance and electronic pop. Based in Lisbon, Xinobi is part of the scene that formed around the Discotexas label, which he co‑founded with Moullinex, and early on established a signature style where club rhythms, disco basslines, pop melodies and post‑punk references intersect without merging. The album 1975, released in 2016, demonstrates this approach by expanding into more narrative, vocal‑led tracks while preserving dancefloor effectiveness. Over the course of his career Xinobi has also released on labels such as Anjunadeep, TAU, Watergate and MoBlack, and has collaborated with artists including WhoMadeWho, Jan Blomqvist, Rodriguez Jr., Lazarusman and Moullinex. In addition to his DJ sets he performs live with a band — a format that extends his producer work through a more direct engagement with songs, organic textures and arrangements. He has also launched his own label, On The Quiet Records.
