Agoria
Between the Lyon scene and international clubs, Agoria—born Sébastien Devaud—has developed since the late 1990s a personal approach to techno and house, coloured by Detroit influences, ambient washes and structures close to electronica. He first drew attention with a series of maxi singles and the album Blossom in 2003, followed by The Green Armchair in 2006 and Impermanence in 2011, which established work focused on extended melodies, detailed textures and the recurring use of guest vocals. A co‑founder of the Nuits Sonores festival in Lyon and the InFiné Music label, Agoria quickly became part of a European network of clubs and festivals while also producing remixes for artists from both pop and electronic music. The soundtrack to the film Go Fast in 2008 marked his first foray into cinema, followed by further audiovisual collaborations. With Drift in 2019, Agoria shifted his writing toward more open formats—between slow techno, melodic house and electronic ballads featuring guest singers and rappers. Alongside his work as a DJ and producer, he develops visual art projects and installations around data and generative imagery, extending his sonic universe into a broader field.
