Mind Against

Italian brother duo based in Berlin, Mind Against brings together Alessandro and Federico Fognini, originally from northern Italy. Active since the early 2010s on the melodic techno and house scene, the project is characterized by long, hypnotic builds, detailed synth lines and stripped‑back rhythms, at the crossroads of European techno, electronica and ambient‑influenced sounds. Their first maxi singles were released on the Life and Death label, followed by a series of releases on Afterlife and other imprints oriented towards melodic, atmospheric forms of club music. Present on club and festival stages across Europe and later North America, the duo develops DJ sets conceived as continuous progressions, relying on slow transitions, harmonic tension and gradual variations rather than abrupt cuts. Remixes and collaborations with producers from the contemporary techno sphere round out their activity, positioning Mind Against in a field where the emotional and cinematic dimension of music is central.
