WhoMadeWho

Based in Copenhagen, the Danish trio WhoMadeWho formed in 2003 around Tomas Høffding, Tomas Barfod and Jeppe Kjellberg. They operate at the intersection of experimental pop, indie rock and club-oriented electronic music. First spotted on the German label Gomma with the album "WhoMadeWho" (2005) and later "The Plot" (2009), the band emerged within the European indie-disco and dance-punk wave, developing structured songcraft tailored for live performance. Across records such as "Brighter" (2012), "Dreams" (2014) and "Through the Walls" (2018), WhoMadeWho accentuated the electronic aspect of their sound by incorporating textures close to melodic house and minimal techno while retaining clear vocals, guitars and prominent bass lines. After signing to Kompakt for "Synchronicity" (2020) and "UUUU" (2022), they further embedded themselves in club and festival culture, collaborating with electronic producers and exploring hybrid live formats that mix a band setup with a DJ approach. Their concerts emphasize gradual buildups, repetitive rhythms and accessible melodic work, enabling the trio to move comfortably between rock stages and electronic-music lineups.
