Pierre De Maere

Born in Uccle in the Brussels-Capital Region and partly raised in Walhain in Walloon Brabant, Pierre de Maere developed a self-taught approach to composition at an early age before turning to photography, which he studied briefly at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. He later returned to music and began releasing his first tracks around 2020, starting with Potins absurdes, followed by Regrets and Menteur, and then the single Un jour, je marierai un ange in 2021. His music sits between francophone pop, chanson and electropop, featuring direct songwriting, prominent melodies and a visual aesthetic closely tied to his world. In 2022 Pierre de Maere released the EP Un jour, je, conceived with his brother Xavier de Maere and produced with Valentin Marceau, and in 2023 his debut album Regarde-moi. His trajectory quickly took him to festival stages, television and the francophone pop circuits in Belgium and France. Continuing the line of Regarde-moi, he followed up with the track Mercredi in 2023 and appears in 2024 on a cover of These Walls in collaboration with Dua Lipa.
