Louane
Balancing French-language pop with an intimate chanson sensibility, Louane crafts a repertoire where accessible melodies meet personal themes. Born Anne Peichert in 1996 in Hénin-Beaumont in northern France, she first appeared in teen television competitions before gaining notice in 2013 during the second season of The Voice in France. Louane then turned to film with the lead role in Éric Lartigau’s 2014 movie La Famille Bélier, setting her on a dual path as a singer and actress and earning her the 2015 César Award for Most Promising Actress. That same year, the album Chambre 12 (2015) marked her recording debut, in a mainstream pop vein infused with chanson and ballads. She followed with a self-titled second album, Louane (2017), where the production became more electronic while remaining centered on her voice and on lyrics about family, adolescence, and emotional relationships. With Joie de vivre (2020), Louane introduced more urban sounds and electronic rhythms, then explored a more introspective, minimalist side on Sentiments (2022), confirming a trajectory in which francophone pop provides the framework for direct, personal songwriting.
