Zaoui

Under the name Zaoui, French singer-songwriter Raphaël Faget-Zaoui extends the pop impulse that emerged within the Parisian band Thérapie Taxi, where he first gained attention as a central voice and writer before the project's split in the early 2020s. As a solo artist he is developing French-language pop that blends straightforward choruses, dance influences and electronic touches, with a taste for blunt lyrics, a rhythmic spoken-sung delivery, and a focus on the small details of intimate and emotional life. The first tracks released under the Zaoui alias established him on a Francophone scene where modern chanson, electro-pop and urban pop varieties intersect, in a format conceived as much for the club as for radio. On stage the project leans on a rock-like energy and on the experience gained with Thérapie Taxi, cultivating a direct rapport with the audience. Between studio recordings, music videos centered on the body and night, and tours of venues and festivals, the Zaoui project pursues an exploration of a immediately accessible Francophone pop shaped by a personal songwriting voice.
