Juliette Armanet
Between French chanson and synthetic pop, Juliette Armanet shapes a universe centered on piano-based songwriting and intimate lyrics. Born in 1984 in Lille, she grew up in a family steeped in music before studying literature and film and then working for several years in the audiovisual and documentary fields. At the same time she composed her first songs and performed them on small stages before releasing the EP 'Cavalier seule' in 2014, which brought her wider recognition in the francophone pop scene. Her debut album 'Petite amie', released in 2017, combines straightforward melodies, piano-and-voice instrumentation and arrangements inspired by 1970s variety music, and received a Victoire de la musique in 2018 in the album révélation category. With 'Brûler le feu' in 2021, followed by the expanded edition 'Brûler le feu 2' in 2022, Juliette Armanet accentuated the disco and pop dimensions of her writing while retaining a narrative approach focused on feelings, desire and emotional relationships, which she presents in concert with a dance-oriented band and luminous stage design.
