Joseph Kamel

Between French chanson and pop with folk overtones, Joseph Kamel is building a repertoire centered on voice and songwriting, with introspective and narrative lyrics. Born into a Franco‑Egyptian family living in France, he early on chose to compose in French, drawing inspiration both from the singer‑songwriter tradition and from contemporary pop. He was noticed in the early 2020s through online videos and his first concerts, and reached a wider audience after appearing in 2021 on the France 2 show “The Artist,” which placed him on the map of the new francophone scene. Joseph Kamel has since continued to develop on stage and in the studio, honing a style where the guitar plays a central role and arrangements remain understated in service of the lyrics. The release of the album “Miroirs” in 2023 marked a significant step, gathering songs about identity, family and emotional relationships in a direct, accessible tone.
