Angèle
Born in Uccle and raised in Brussels’ musical milieu, Angèle developed piano skills at a very young age before making herself known in the mid-2010s through covers and short videos published online. Her writing sits in a Francophone pop with synthpop and chanson contours, with clean productions, direct melodies and lyrics that mix observations of daily life, social relations and intimate subjects. After several opening acts, notably for Ibeyi and Damso, Angèle released the singles « La Loi de Murphy » and « Je veux tes yeux », followed by her first album Brol in 2018. This record establishes Angèle durably on Belgian, French, Swiss, Canadian and American stages through the Brol Tour, while tracks like « Balance ton quoi » or « Tout oublier », in a duet with Roméo Elvis, widen her audience. Angèle continued with Nonante-Cinq in 2021, followed by Nonante-Cinq La Suite in 2022, in a more personal but still anchored in a flexible and accessible electronic pop. Throughout her career Angèle has also collaborated with Damso, Dua Lipa, Orelsan, Kavinsky, Phoenix and Justice, and since her debut she has alternated between large venues, festivals and appearances at media-exposed events.
