Jérémy Frerot
Born in Bruges, in the Gironde department, in 1990, Jérémy Frerot has gradually established himself on the francophone pop scene by blending chanson, variété and folk influences. Originally a sports instructor with ties to the nautical world, he first became known as part of the duo Fréro Delavega, formed with Florian Delavega and brought to prominence in 2014 by the TV show The Voice: la plus belle voix. With that project, Jérémy Frerot developed an acoustic universe centered on vocal harmonies and direct songwriting, before the duo split in 2017 and he launched a solo career. His debut album, Matriochka, was released in 2018 and set a melodic pop tone, driven by guitar, supple rhythms and lyrics that explore family ties, intimacy and the relationship to time. In 2021 the album Meilleure vie continued in this direction, widening the palette toward a more electronic production while retaining a foundation in chanson française. Jérémy Frerot regularly collaborates with writers and composers from the new generation of French pop and mainly performs on tour in venues and festivals across France, where his repertoire follows an accessible format, between ballads and more rhythmic songs.
