Eddy de Pretto

Born in Paris and raised in Créteil in the Val-de-Marne, Eddy de Pretto develops a writing style that sits between French chanson, rap and electronic pop, with a spoken-sung phrasing and often sober arrangements, centered on rhythmic tension, melody and text. After beginnings in theatre and a few screen appearances, Eddy de Pretto begins circulating his tracks in the mid-2010s and draws attention on the stages of the Inouïs du Printemps de Bourges and Bars en Trans. His first EP, Kid, was released in 2017, followed by the album Cure in 2018, which establishes a universe where intimate narratives, questions of masculinity, social norms, suburban life and love relationships cross. Eddy de Pretto continues with À tous les bâtards in 2021, a record with broader production, then Crash Cœur in 2023, where he emphasizes an R'n'B color and sentimental pop while maintaining his direct delivery. Throughout his career, Eddy de Pretto has also presented more structured stage forms, such as Kid Boxing in 2019 or Love Factory in 2023, and collaborated notably with Yseult, Julien Doré and Juliette Armanet.
