Pomme
Born in Décines-Charpieu in the Rhône and raised in the Lyon metropolitan area, Claire Pommet developed an early relationship with music through choral training, the cello and her first compositions performed in Lyon bars before moving to Paris. Under the name Pomme, she emerged with the EP En cavale in 2016 and with À peu près in 2017, where a French chanson writing style nourished by folk and acoustic pop became evident. Pomme then built a stage career, opening for artists such as Benjamin Biolay and Asaf Avidan, and later performing at venues like La Boule Noire, La Cigale and the Trianon. With Les Failles (2019), co-produced with Albin de la Simone, she tightened her focus with more pared-down arrangements and lyrics centered on intimacy, anxiety, love and personal vulnerabilities. Consolation (2022) continued this thread on a broader scale, while Saisons (2024) marks a shift toward a more orchestral work conceived in several movements. Over the years Pomme has also broadened her collaborations — from Safia Nolin to Flavien Berger, Aaron Dessner, Ichiko Aoba and Stromae — while cultivating a repertoire that places the softness of timbres, melodic precision and a contemporary folk approach at its core.
