Solann
Born in Paris in 1999, Solann Lis‑Amboyan—known as Solann—grew up between the capital and the Vaucluse in a family environment where theatre and multi‑arts intersected, shaped by her mother’s Armenian roots. After a youth marked by acting, dance, modeling and painting, she focused on songwriting and learned guitar, then piano. During the coronavirus lockdown, Solann began sharing her compositions on social networks, notably through an online duo with Zaho de Sagazan, which caught the attention of producer Chad Boccara and the agency Faubourg26. She was the first recipient of the Women in Motion Emerging Talent Award for music and imagery at the Sœurs Jumelles festival. Supported by the Cinq7 label, Solann develops an ethereal neofolk grounded in French chanson, with spare arrangements and incisive lyrics that explore feminism, the relationship to the body, nightlife, class struggle and the tensions of femininity within a patriarchal framework. After a series of singles including Perdu, Petit Corps and Rome, she released the EP Monstrueuse in 2024 and, in 2025, the albums Si on sombre ce sera beau and Si on sombre ce sera beau (promis), composed with producer Marso; Rome also earned a gold single. That same year, Solann contributed to Patrick Watson’s collaborative album Uh Oh, received a Victoire de la Musique for female revelation as well as the Sacem Grand Prize for revelation, and began a tour in France and Belgium.
