Vianney

Born in Pau in 1991 and raised in Paris, Vianney Bureau has developed a songwriting style rooted in French chanson, nourished by acoustic pop and folk, centered on guitar, a flexible voice and direct, straightforward lyrics. He rose to prominence in 2014 with Idées blanches, notably propelled by the song Pas là, after several years on stage, opening for other acts and an already committed path in songwriting. His second album, Vianney, appeared in 2016 and extended this stripped-down approach—between ballads, light rhythms and very melodic choruses—with Je m’en vais among the standout tracks. In concert, Vianney has often performed his songs alone on stage in a spare format that highlights the text and interpretation. With N’attendons pas in 2020 he moved toward a broader pop sound while retaining an acoustic base, and on À 2 à 3 in 2023 he opened his repertoire further to exchanges and duets, collaborating with artists from Zazie to Ed Sheeran. Alongside his own records, Vianney writes or co-writes for other artists and has also become a familiar face on French television as a coach on The Voice.
