John Tejada

Born in Vienna in 1974 and based in Los Angeles since 1982, John Tejada has, since the early 1990s, developed work positioned between house and techno, with a marked taste for melodic lines, crisp textures and a style often close to electronica. Trained early on in piano and later drums in a family environment connected to classical music, John Tejada began DJing as a teenager and released his first tracks from 1994, before building both an extensive discography and a sustained career as a DJ and producer. His name appears on labels such as Kompakt, Poker Flat, Cocoon, Plug Research, Playhouse and Defected, alongside Palette Recordings, his own label active since the 1990s. His solo albums include Daydreams in Cold Weather (2002), Parabolas (2011), The Predicting Machine (2012), Signs Under Test (2015), Dead Start Program (2018), Year of the Living Dead (2021) and Resound (2023). In parallel, John Tejada has produced numerous remixes and performed in varied contexts, from Berghain, fabric or Rex Club to festivals such as Sónar, Mutek and Movement. He also leads the Wajatta project with Reggie Watts, launched on record with Casual High Technology in 2018 and Don’t Let Get You Down in 2020.
