Info
Hiba Tawaji invites Ibrahim Maalouf for a tour date at La Chaudronnerie in La Ciotat on March 11, 2027. A meeting between a Levantine voice and a trumpet with oriental inflections, this concert unfolds songs in Arabic and French, reworked with elements of pop, jazz and classical color. The programme will include pieces from their respective repertoires as well as shared numbers, all carried by improvisation and a constant musical dialogue.
Trained in Beirut between the conservatory and the stage, Hiba Tawaji first established herself alongside Oussama Rahbani before opening a francophone chapter in her career. She played the role of Esmeralda in Notre-Dame de Paris and released albums where pop ballads, symphonic orchestration and Lebanese heritage intersect. On stage, her soprano range moves from lyrical projection to more intimate nuances, with careful articulation between languages and styles.
Opposite her, Ibrahim Maalouf, a Franco-Lebanese trumpeter trained by Nassim Maalouf and then Maurice André, has been navigating for over twenty years between jazz, Middle Eastern music and film composition. His quarter-tone trumpet and melodic writing shape projects both as a soloist and in expanded ensembles. Together they alternate improvisations, familiar themes and new arrangements, in a format conceived for the stage.
