Amel Bent
Amel Bent, born Amel Bentbachir in 1985 in Paris, is a French R’n’B singer. She became known through the TV show «A la Recherche de la Nouvelle Star» in 2003, which served as an important springboard for her career. After the show she signed with Sony and released her debut album «Un jour d’été» a year later; the album earned her a Victoire de la Musique in 2006. With the single «Ma philosophie» she embarked on a promotional tour across France. Two years later she returned with «A 20 ans», which includes the song «Je reste seule», written and composed by Charles Aznavour himself. The release of her third album in 2009, «Où je vais», confirmed her musical reputation and popularity with French audiences, and she subsequently toured extensively. In 2011 she released her fourth studio album «Délit mineur», collaborating with Jean-Jacques Goldman and Maxime Leforestier. In 2013 she began a series of concerts in France while releasing the single «Ma Chance», a preview of a new album.
