Hiba Tawaji
In Beirut, Hiba Tawaji began very early a career spanning singing, theatre and audiovisual directing, studying between the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique and Saint Joseph University. She came to prominence from the late 2000s as part of composer Oussama Rahbani’s team, with whom she performed concerts and Arabic musical theatre, developing a style that blends Middle Eastern pop with orchestrations close to classical music, jazz and lyric-driven song. In 2014 Hiba Tawaji released her first Arabic studio album, La Bidayi Wala Nihayi, marked by symphonic arrangements and references to Lebanese musical tradition. Her international exposure widened in 2015 with her participation in the French edition of The Voice : la plus belle voix, which opened the way to a francophone career. In 2016 she joined the cast of the musical Notre‑Dame de Paris in the role of Esmeralda, performing it on various stages in France and abroad. The 2017 album Hiba Tawaji 30 confirmed her positioning between Arabic repertoire and songs in French, featuring a soprano register that moves between pop ballads, reworked covers and original compositions. Dividing her time between Beirut, Paris and major Arab stages, Hiba Tawaji has since maintained a steady activity of concerts, recordings and collaborative stage projects centered on the music of the Levant.
