Thornhill

Born out of Melbourne's heavy scene, Thornhill emerged in the mid-2010s on a metalcore foundation defined by groove and brooding atmospheres. After turning heads with the EPs "13" (2016) and "Butterfly" (2018), Thornhill refined a sound that blends hefty guitars, melodic vocals, and more aggressive passages, leveraging the contrasts between rhythmic tension and atmospheric moods. Their debut album, "The Dark Pool" (2019), firmly positioned the band within a modern metal framework with progressive flourishes, while "Heroine" (2022) shifted toward a more alternative aesthetic, weaving in 1990s and 2000s rock and nu-metal influences and placing greater emphasis on textures and vocal lines. Active on Australia's metalcore circuit and invited on tour alongside kindred acts, Thornhill has built its path through a run of intense shows and releases that arrive sparingly yet coherently, seeking to evolve its sonic identity from record to record, balancing contemporary metal heritage with more melodic explorations.
