Melbourne’s Thornhill bring their modern heavy sound to Brighton, folding metalcore heft into brooding atmospheres and melodic hooks. Emerging in the mid-2010s, the band has moved from the punch of The Dark Pool toward the shadowy, alternative colours of Heroine, drawing on 90s and 2000s rock and nu‑metal textures while keeping a clear sense of groove and dynamics. Live, they deal in contrasts: low‑tuned surges, elastic rhythms and layered guitars set against spacious breaks and clean vocal lines that can tilt into grit.
Recent singles Viper Room and Obsession mark the latest turn in their writing, and slot naturally alongside catalogue cuts, with the Live On Tour! recordings offering a snapshot of the band’s current pace.
