Erra

Formed in 2009 in Birmingham, Alabama, Erra has established itself within the North American progressive metalcore scene with a sound centered on technical riffs, atmospheric textures, and the alternation between harsh and melodic vocals. Led by guitarist-composer Jesse Cash, the band asserted its identity with the "Andromeda" EP in 2010 and the debut album "Impulse" in 2011, marked by a strong penchant for complex structures and dynamic contrasts. The lineup evolved over the years, notably with the arrival of vocalist J.T. Cavey in 2016, which coincided with a period of more intensive touring across international metal and hardcore circuits. Erra followed with "Augment" (2013), "Drift" (2016), and "Neon" (2018), deepening a style that is both melodic and dense, where intricately crafted guitars sit alongside more airy passages. The self-titled "Erra" (2021) emphasized even more melodic writing without abandoning the heavier facets of metalcore, while "Cure" (2024) extended this approach by exploring more contrasted textures. On stage, Erra integrates into the network of metalcore and progressive tours, sharing bills with bands of the same generation and consolidating a position focused on rhythmic and harmonic exploration within contemporary metal.
