Ocean Grove

Born in the suburbs of Melbourne in the early 2010s, Ocean Grove first made its mark on the Australian heavy scene with a blend of nu metal, hardcore and grunge informed by 1990s references. The band is centred on vocalist Dale Tanner and drummer/producer Sam Bassal, with a shifting lineup that reinforces the project's collective nature. After the EPs “Outsider” (2013) and “Black Label” (2015), Ocean Grove signed to UNFD and released their debut album “The Rhapsody Tapes” in 2017, noted for a dense sound, heavy rhythms and electronic textures. With “Flip Phone Fantasy” (2020) and “Up In The Air Forever” (2022), Ocean Grove broadened its palette toward a more pronounced crossover of alternative metal, melodic rock, pop influences and touches of hip-hop, while adopting the label “Odd World Music” to describe this hybrid assemblage. Regularly touring Australia, the UK and Europe, Ocean Grove has developed a coherent visual and sonic universe where catchy choruses, massive grooves and electronic atmospheres coexist within a single project.
