MEUTE

Formed in Hamburg in 2015 around trumpeter Thomas Burhorn, Meute brings together eleven musicians in a street-band format that transposes techno, house and deep house into an acoustic performance centered on brass and percussion. Meute quickly emerged in 2016 with their reinterpretation of “Rej” by the Berlin duo Âme, filmed in the Schanzenviertel district, and went on to build a presence on the street, in clubs, concert halls and at festivals. Their repertoire initially relied on rearrangements of tracks from electronic scenes, with versions of pieces by Laurent Garnier, Disclosure, Dennis Ferrer and Deadmau5, while retaining the repetitive pulse and drive of dance music. After the album Tumult (2017), Meute released Live in Paris in 2019 and Puls in 2020, where original compositions also began to appear. The band continued this evolution with Taumel in 2022 and Empor in 2024, while touring extensively across Europe, North America, southern Africa and Australia. Over the years Meute has also shared stages with artists like Laurent Garnier and Stephan Bodzin and collaborated with Henrik Schwarz.
