Kerala Dust
Founded in London in 2016, Kerala Dust was formed across the UK, Berlin and Zurich around a quartet of Edmund Kenny, Lawrence Howarth, Timothy Gardner and Pascal Karier. Kerala Dust develops a sound at the intersection of psychedelic rock, blues, krautrock and electronic music, with tracks driven by supple guitars, repetitive rhythms and a club-like tension designed with live performance in mind. First noticed for their early singles and a regular presence on stages that blend concert and electronic formats, Kerala Dust clarified their identity with the album Light, West in 2020 and then Violet Drive in 2023 — two records that extend the dialogue between motorik pulse, nocturnal atmospheres and vocals often bordering on spoken word. The band then toured extensively, evolving a repertoire in which improvisation, analogue textures and collective dynamics take centre stage. Alongside their own material, Kerala Dust also recorded a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s "The Chain", which was used in season 5 of The Handmaid’s Tale — another landmark in the band’s trajectory.
