MEUTE

On 12 May 2027 at Le Liberté in Rennes, MEUTE transforms techno trance into a full-bodied, brassy exhalation. Founded in Hamburg in 2015 around trumpeter Thomas Burhorn, the group brings together eleven musicians who play house and techno acoustically, layering brass lines and percussion patterns up to the drop—without machines. Revealed by their reworking of Âme’s “Rej,” the band has since built a repertoire that mixes rearrangements—from Laurent Garnier to Disclosure, Dennis Ferrer and Deadmau5—with original compositions.

On stage, the pulse is repetitive, the mechanics precise, the sound organic, conceived for dancing. Recent pieces, from “Puls” to “Taumel” and then “Empor,” extend this collective approach in which each riff becomes a persistent motif and the snare drums supply the club’s backbone. Between build-ups, breaks and re-entries, MEUTE replays club codes with wind instruments and percussion, turning the brass band into a live form of electronic music.
