Grandbrothers
Grandbrothers is a German‑Swiss duo formed by pianist Erol Sarp and engineer‑programmer Lukas Vogel, known for turning the piano into a true orchestral machine. Their project is built on a distinctive approach: an “augmented” grand piano fitted with an electromechanical hammer system designed by Vogel, enabling the real‑time creation of percussive textures, electronic pads and repetitive motifs without relying on external samples. Since their debut with Dilation, followed by Open and All the Unknown, Grandbrothers have crafted music at the intersection of neoclassical, experimental and electronica, where minimalism meets raw emotion. Together they sculpt cinematic soundscapes that blend mathematical pulses with luminous melodies, and perform internationally with a hypnotic live show that reveals the poetic mechanics of their augmented instrument.
