Henrik Schwarz

Born in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany, Henrik Schwarz emerged in the early 2000s with an approach to electronic music that brings house, techno and jazz into a single language. A producer, composer and DJ, Schwarz first drew attention with releases on Sunday‑Music before expanding his activity across the Berlin and European scenes, between clubs, festivals and live formats. His writing relies on repetitive motifs inherited from house, but also on more open harmonies, supple basslines and a significant emphasis on dynamics and improvisation. This way of constructing tracks has taken him both to the dancefloor and to concert projects, notably through collaborations with Bugge Wesseltoft and with Âme and Dixon on several joint productions. Henrik Schwarz alternates DJ sets, live performances and composition work in a register where deep house, minimal techno, soul and jazz textures coexist without sharp division, with a sound both functional for the club and conceived in detail.
