JPattersson

Born in Leipzig in 1991, JPattersson, the stage name of Johann Beger, has since the mid-2010s developed a project that sits at the crossroads of electronica, organic house, dub and songwriting, with trumpet playing at its core. Trained very early in this instrument, he has also moved in other contexts, notably within a university big band in Halle and the a cappella trio Die Kinder vom See, where he sings bass and beatboxes. Under the name JPattersson, he began producing in 2014 and released his first album, PROGaDUB, in 2015, followed by Folks & Fanfare in 2018, Mood in 2020 and On The Fly in 2023. His music blends supple basslines, dub textures, club-oriented rhythms, jazz-inflected trumpet melodies, some Latin American influences and a taste for cinematic-colored themes. The live format occupies an important place in JPattersson's career, seen on stages such as Fusion, MS Dockville, Tribal Gathering or Wonderfruit, as well as in clubs in Europe, North America, Oceania and Asia. Based in Leipzig, JPattersson continues a work where singing, electronic composition and an instrumental approach intersect.
