Mezerg

Born Marc Mezergue and hailing from Mérignac in the Bordeaux area, Mezerg has been developing since the mid-2010s a project at the crossroads of techno, electronic music, piano and Balkan influences. Trained at the Conservatory of Bordeaux, he first drew attention with performances outside classical circuits, notably in public spaces in Bordeaux, before quickly expanding to festivals across France and Europe. His music is based on a very physical live approach, where piano melodic lines, repetitive electro motifs and rhythmic variations merge into a format close to a one‑man‑band, sometimes augmented on stage by drummer Vincent Brülin. The theremin also occupies a regular place in Mezerg’s universe, adding a distinctive color to a sound built around loops, pulse and improvisation. After several singles from 2019, Mezerg released the album Chez Mezerg in 2021 and the EP Extended Play in 2023. In 2025 the 42-minute album Vol retardé and the live release Quelque Part en tournée (Live) appeared, continuing work nourished by the stage and by the evolution of his improvisational forms.
