Motionless In White

Formed in the early 2000s in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Motionless In White emerged on the American metalcore scene by blending gothic influences with industrial textures. Led by vocalist Chris Motionless, the band first shaped its identity through self-released EPs before issuing When Love Met Destruction in 2009, which paved the way for their debut album, Creatures, in 2010, defined by a mix of metalcore riffs, dark keyboards, and themes inspired by horror and alternative culture. Motionless In White followed with Infamous in 2012 and Reincarnate in 2014, a period during which the group strengthened its incorporation of industrial elements and more melodic choruses while ramping up touring across the North American and European metal circuits. With Graveyard Shift in 2017 and Disguise in 2019, the band heightened its focus on electronic atmospheres and the contrast between harsh screams and clean vocals, relying on a now-stable core lineup. Scoring the End of the World, released in 2022, extends this direction with collaborations drawn from video games and modern metal, confirming Motionless In White’s place at the crossroads of metalcore, gothic metal, and a strain of industrial metal oriented toward direct song structures.
