Dayseeker

Formed in 2012 in Orange County, California, Dayseeker situates itself within the North American post-hardcore and metalcore scene, blending melodic vocals, heavier sections, and atmospheric textures. The band drew notice with What It Means to Be Defeated (2013), rooted in a classic post-hardcore vein, before hardening and honing its songwriting on Origin (2015). With Dreaming Is Sinking /// Waking Is Rising (2017), Dayseeker built a more conceptual world where metalcore, alternative rock, and cinematic atmospheres intersect, driven by Rory Rodriguez’s expressive vocals and structures that prioritize emotional dynamics over technical display. The shift crystallized on Sleeptalk (2019), which gives more room to synths, moderate tempos, and an emo- and pop-leaning side, and then on Dark Sun (2022), where Dayseeker deepens these elements in a darker, more introspective register. Regularly touring club circuits and specialized venues, Dayseeker is part of a network of metalcore and post-hardcore bands, sharing bills and themed tours.
