Imminence
Formed in Trelleborg in southern Sweden, Imminence has developed since 2009 a melodic metalcore that blends post-hardcore, alternative rock and atmospheric passages, with Eddie Berg’s violin—he is also the vocalist—occupying a distinctive place. This choice gives Imminence a more cinematic tension, balancing highly melodic choruses, massive guitars and darker sequences. After the EPs Ascendance (2010), Born of Sirius (2012) and Return to Helios (2013), Imminence released their debut album I in 2014 and then moved toward a more open format with This Is Goodbye in 2017. The band returned to a heavier register with Turn the Light On in 2019 and continued in that direction on Heaven in Hiding in 2021. With The Black in 2024, Imminence further accentuates the contrast between rhythmic aggression, airy melodies and arrangements with a symphonic tone. The same period saw the release of The Reclamation of I in 2024, a reworking of their first album, followed by The Return of The Black in 2025. Supported by steady live activity across Europe and North America, Imminence sits within a modern scene where contemporary metal, post-hardcore emotion and carefully crafted melodic songwriting coexist.
