We Came As Romans
Formed in 2005 in Troy, near Detroit, We Came As Romans is part of the North American metalcore and post‑hardcore scene, combining heavy guitars, sung melodies and screamed passages. The band attracted attention with the EP 'Dreams' (2008) and then shaped its discography around studio albums that gradually established its aesthetic — from 'To Plant a Seed' (2009) through 'Understanding What We’ve Grown to Be' (2011) and 'Tracing Back Roots' (2013), which introduced more melodic arrangements and electronic touches. With 'We Came as Romans' (2015) and 'Cold Like War' (2017) they reinforced a sound that alternates rhythmic aggression, catchy choruses and themes of solidarity and resilience, while touring extensively, including the Warped Tour and international metalcore circuits. The death of singer/keyboardist Kyle Pavone in 2018 was a significant moment in the band's history, yet they continued by reorganizing vocal duties and refining their writing. The album 'Darkbloom' (2022) continues this evolution with a more modern production and a balance between melodic metalcore, electronic influences and alt‑rock textures, confirming We Came As Romans' place in a constantly changing scene.
