Beartooth

Formed in 2012 in Columbus, Ohio, Beartooth coalesced around singer, songwriter, and producer Caleb Shomo, initially as a side project before becoming a full-fledged metalcore band. Blending hardcore punk, modern metal, and melodic choruses, Beartooth favors straightforward structures, brisk tempos, and vocals that shift between screams and more sung lines, with lyrics focused on mental health, doubt, and inner tensions. The band drew attention with the EP “Sick” in 2013, then followed up with the 2014 album “Disgusting,” which established Beartooth on North America’s metal and punk stages. The trajectory continued with “Aggressive” (2016) and “Disease” (2018), signaling a move toward greater melody while retaining an energetic hardcore foundation. With “Below” in 2021 and “The Surface” in 2023, Beartooth cemented a sonic identity built on tight riffs, powerful rhythms, and anthemic choruses, sustained by steady touring and a constant presence on international festival circuits.
