Carl Cox
Born in 1962 in Oldham, in the north of England, and raised in south London, Carl Cox established himself in the late 1980s on the British acid house and rave scene before becoming a central DJ and producer in the development of European techno and house. From a family of Barbadian origin, Cox shaped his style in London warehouses and clubs with energetic sets that blend techno, house, tech house and rave influences, often built around continuous mixing and long-form set dynamics. His career later expanded internationally, with extended residencies in Ibiza, club tours and appearances at major festivals. In the studio he released albums such as At the End of the Cliché (1996), Second Sign (2005), All Roads Lead to the Dancefloor (2011) and Electronic Generations (2022), which translate the aesthetic of his live performances to record. Regularly associated with European, American and Australian scenes, Carl Cox has also collaborated with other techno and house producers and appeared in documentaries about electronic music.
