The Martinez Brothers

Born in the Bronx, New York, into a Puerto Rican family, Chris and Steve Martinez built The Martinez Brothers as a duo rooted in the city's house culture, blending New York club heritage, Latin grooves and a highly rhythmic approach to tech house. Active since their teens, The Martinez Brothers emerged in the late 2000s thanks to their DJ sets and a series of productions that quickly circulated on international house scenes. Their career developed between New York, Ibiza and major club and festival circuits, with a lasting presence in the Circoloco orbit at DC10. In their tracks as well as in their mixes, The Martinez Brothers craft a direct, percussive and warm house, often built on supple basslines, chopped vocals and a marked sense of groove. The duo launched the Cuttin’ Headz label in 2015 as an extension of their universe and their affinities with a club-oriented house and tech house scene. Over the years The Martinez Brothers have also multiplied collaborations and remixes, while keeping an identity tied to dance, dancefloor energy and a contemporary reading of American house.
