Marco Carola

Hailing from the Naples scene, Marco Carola emerged in the 1990s as Italian electronic music began to organize around clubs, labels and an increasing circulation of techno sounds across Europe. His early productions sit within a dry, fast and repetitive techno style, marked by a taste for minimal forms and a focus on groove, before a gradual shift toward a looser, funkier tech house in the 2000s and 2010s. First a producer, then a DJ, Carola developed a mixing approach built over time, favouring extended sets and continuous progression rather than abrupt breaks. His discography includes Open System (2001) and Play It Loud! (2011), alongside a substantial catalogue of maxis and remixes released on various techno labels. Associated with Ibiza through the Music On project, Marco Carola has for many years been active on the international club and festival circuit across Europe, the Americas and Asia, working in a register between minimal techno, groove techno and tech house.
